snoball update

new look for spring

Below is Snoball when she was a baby. A lot of things have changed since then (she was born in August 2009). Lately, she's wearing a red paper flower on her stem. She's got fenders a front carrier and basket now. Her old brooks saddle broke so now she wears a ladies flower embossed b-18. She recently became a francophile and traded in her soma sparrow bars for some phillipe bars. They're awesome.

Since her early days she's been rolling the planet bike rear carrier with army pannier bag, her polka dot scarf, the water bottle cage (from kathleen!), and pump for road rides. Early on I also covered the horrendous SOMA painted "headbadge" logo with a lakshmi on a lotus decal. She feels so me now, but like everything she's always changing.

It's Good to Be Here

This Streetfilms production on the National Bike Summit makes me so happy! I can hardly express my gratitude and inspiration for the moment that we live in now. Cycling, and just about every other aspect of sustainability are becoming everyday topics. As a culture, we have a long way to go before we stop the perils of mad consumption, but we're taking strides in the right direction. We are in the midst of a communications revolution and WE are powerful. Networking tools like Facebook, Twitter and the blogosphere connect us with other people and create alliances that even government and big business can't control. I've also learned that civics, participating in local government, gives US a voice and a decision making hand. My most heartfelt thanks to all the cycling advocates that devote their lives to our cause. And a thank you to each and every person that rides a bike(some exceptions. YOU represent a civilized way of transporting people and goods in and around cities.

Change Your Life - Ride a Bike!

this gorgeous photo from anglomex was shot at a war museum in london and is a part of the, now defunct, berlin wall. It, of course, reminds me of the sf based, collaborative blog change your life ride a bike, which is designed to inspire. and that it does. I wouldn't be putting anything down here if it wasn't for the power that I get from knowing I am not alone in my passion for smart transport, aka cycling. gracias ladies.
