Great Streets Project Announces a Great Change

Just announced:

Beginning Tuesday, January 26, private motorists traveling eastbound on Market Street will be required to turn right on 10th Street instead of at 8th Street. Motorists will continue to be diverted at 6th Street as well.

This is a great plan since the intersection at 8th is still unsafe for cyclists, as cars and bikes have to intersect paths (hopefully without colliding) in order for the cars to turn right and the bikes to move straight ahead. There are currently large electric signs asking vehicles to turn right, but their placement on the sidewalk just after the intersection of Market and Ninth makes them nearly invisible. Looking forward to the improvement.
