The Meadow Opens in New York

I don't really know snow, but i love the idea of bikes in snow. calm, crisp, bright, quiet, riding in snow. Here are two fave photos from Flat Black 66 and Amsterdamize.

I am really glad there's a new bike lane on Townsend, it's good for so many things.

Like unloading your car

It's a great place to take a break from driving your taxi to chat with a colleague

I mean it's really great for unloading your car

oh hai, don't worry if the lot is full you can park your Prius in the bike lane

FedEx loves this bike lane

where else to line up for a right hand turn or back into a parking space?

UPS also love this lane and it's a terrific spot to double park a Mercedes

doubles as a loading dock

no need to pull to the right to drop off your fare, that's what the bike lane is for

it's a good place for a stroll

and it's for bikes too! this scenario is much better than before the bike lane, I assure you.

food haul

This is a shot of me riding my schwinn cycle truck, cargo bike. I was catering some kind of something and had a couple gallons of herb infused iced teas and a lunch for 10 or so people.
I brought all the food on this table

and these drinks. The vintage grolsch bottle contains salad dressing.

deck the 'ball with boughs of doug fir

After the holiday work party, I was delighted to find that someone had decked out snoball in some pine branches. I was very happy and my ride home smelled really good.

after seeing the legnano locked to a pole and shooting away, i got lucky enough to see her glide down 18th Street. I ran to the stop light to get this shot. click. happy day.

the taco bike on serious eats

thanks to a special friend (u know who you are, ms. g) i started using the google reader to keep track of all my favorite blogs.  I recently added serious eats to my feed after finding this nice recipe for Red Braised Turkey Gizzards and just when I was thinking I should remove serious eats because they post more content than my brain can process, i came across a feature on the taco bike.  bikes and food are two of my favorite things (I also like basura). I've decided there is serious value in serious eats, so it stays. Taco bike sound and look familiar?  Yes it does, you've seen me on this bike before.   Read full TacoBike post here.
