my mixte

I am obsessed with bikes. I am obsessed with bike touring and step through frames. I just purchased a SOMA mixte that I am building up all custom and quite special with the help of pedal revolution. I have such stories to tell and coming soon- the ultimate ladies touring machine!

Touring Thoughts

Touring is the next big thing. It seems like everyday I am hearing or reading or thinking or talking about bike touring. Other people are thinking so too. Here is a group of fine San Francisco cyclists I met at Sam P. Taylor state park. They too were on an overnight, cook out type of ride from the city.
Among the group were two fellow SF bike journalists, authors of SF Wiggle and Post Car Adventuring. Both blogs are great and the latter is specifically about touring. It's easy to understand the touring appeal, since you can load a bike with everything you need to comfortably travel the world. And in our back yard, sights like this:
See you on the road!

Fashion Wheel: Summer at the Park

This man was headed toward Dolores Park, just in time for the SF Symphony concert and just after Sunday Streets. Of note are his white tires, mixte frame, bern helmet, movie star sunglasses, neckerchief, admirers in the mini.

A clever bike parking job on a narrow paris street. This is what happens when the streets aren't designed for cars. VIP parking for all!

Mona Caron

Here's a shot of the Mona Caron poster I bought at one of her mural fundraisers. So nice.

Po Campo Bags Chicago

Still obsessed with bikes today, I stumbled upon Po Campo, a chicago bicycle bag manufacturer that makes some styling rack and handlebar bags. I couldn't resist loving and posting the "bike and be free image" from their site. Also loving the rack bag:

A Short Shorts Short

My friend Clark produced this nice video about a fixed gear rider and party producer that likes to wear short shorts. Enjoy yourself and have a look.

farewell environment

today i bid farewell to a termed post at SF Environment. Of course the highlight of leaving the job was using the cycletruck to haul my accumulated crap home. probably shouldn't have so much crap. btw, tongue sticking out helps balance the load.

carrying things

one of the reasons I like bikes so much is because they carry things, such as the rider. Besides the rider, I LOVE seeing bikes carrying things like other people, groceries, and mountains of cardboard. ok, these below are technically tricycles, but cycle is the important part. And how about some super-duty wheels to carry all these heavy loads?
